The G20 Presidency of Indonesia

E – VISA INFO APPLY NOW Friday 15 April 2022 16:30 WITA  Illustration The G20 Presidency of Indonesia– History, Main Focus, the Bali Summit 2022   The G20 Presidency of Indonesia unfolds from December 1, 2021, to November 30, 2022, after a handover from the Italian G20 presidency, Prime Minister Mario Draghi on October 31, 2021, to Joko Widodo in Rome, Italy. Did you know that the countries involved in G20 are representatives of 60% of the total global population, 80% of the global GDP, and 75% of global exports? Evisa Bali is going to explain everything about the Indonesian G20 presidency you need to know in this post. What is G20? G20 stands for Group of Twenty. It is an international forum joined by 19 countries and the European Union (EU). These countries work together to coordinate regarding the world economy, from overcoming crises to creating economic growth and balance. The members of the G20 are part of countries with the largest economies and political powers such as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, the People’s Republic of China (PRC), France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, and the European Union. The solutions obtained from this forum will not only benefit the countries involved in G20 but also developing countries and vulnerable states. Indonesian presidency in this world forum will invite ten international organizations like IMF, WHO, WTO, UN, to name a few, and nine other countries such as Spain, Chair of the African Union, Chair of the African Union Development Agency-NEPAD (AU-NEPAD), Chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Netherlands, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Chair of The Caribbean Community (CARICOM), and Chair of the Pacific Island Forum (PIF). This is in line with a statement delivered by the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo that there was no state unaccounted for. The Birth of G20 G20 was founded in 1999 as an answer to the critical point during the global economic crisis that hit in the years 1997 – 1999. The goal is to establish policies that could encourage international financial stability. First, it was an assembly of Finance Ministers with Central Bank Governors. In 2008. Head of States began to attend the summit. Prior to the summit, Logo, Priority Issues in the G20 Presidency of Indonesia The theme in the G20 Presidency of Indonesia is “Recover Together, Recover Stronger,” in the spirit of restoring the global economy because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is demonstrated in the current G20 logo depicting a mountain, the inspiration was taken from the gunungan in a shadow puppet. The background is adorned with red and white colors presenting Indonesia. The mountain symbolizes hopes and positive changes and Indonesia which is part of the global solution. To deliver what is implied in the theme, there are three priority sectors that are put into attention: Global Health Architecture When COVID-19 wreaked havoc and paralyzed the world in 2019, one thing that was apparent was the disparity of health facilities. By improving the global health architecture, we can respond better to any health crisis in the unforeseeable future. Digital Transformation Slowly but surely, our economic situation is crawling for the better. People are getting the importance of changing conventional business mindset to digital in order to survive. The G20 Presidency of Indonesia works hard to spread digital literacy which affects the rising demand for digital experts.  Sustainable Energy Transition The G20 Presidency of Indonesia also focuses on climate change issues which are a longstanding affliction that determine the lives of millions of people. With a more advanced future, ensuring that our earth is a safe place to live by promoting sustainable energy means critical. The launch of the summit conference was held on December 7-8, 2021 in Jakarta. There will be over 180 projects that have been scheduled in the G20 Presidency of Indonesia including the highlight, the Bali Summit anticipated on November 15-16, 2022.   Related:  Bali Is Nominated as World’s Popular Destinations for 2022 The G20 Presidency of Indonesia – Is This a Proof that We Are Soon Transforming to an Advanced Nation? The rise and fall of COVID-19 are indeed unpredictable. Recovering our courage to travel has not been an easy journey. For travel enthusiasts, the dilemma has always been, “When do we get to be enjoying our pastimes fully without the worry of travel-shaming”. As much as you wish to be a good citizen and participate in lowering the potential spread of the virus, we understood how much you also want to travel at ease. Moreover, travel is not just meant for leisure. Sometimes, it is also necessary for your work or a reunion with your family. In these tough times, we have no other choice but to learn to live with it. What matter is for us to practice the best precautions recommended to stay safe once we leave our doorstep. Traveling does not have to be cut out from your life pursuit. After all, it is good for your mental health to break free from the stress after feeling disconnected from the outside world for over two years. We just need to remain careful about how we are going to do it. #1 Don’t travel when you feel sick at all cost You might need to take into consideration not traveling when you have a fever, experience nausea, and don’t feel fit at all. Traveling by air, land, or sea intensifies your condition. Moreover, it is also easy for you to transfer your illness to others, especially in poor-ventilated spaces. If you are purchasing an airline ticket, make sure to add travel insurance. Once it is getting harder for you to travel, you might inform your airlines sooner and thus, receive a refund. #2 Travel safety tips on public transportations Several precautions you can practice to stay away from the virus you likely catch from others around you in any forms of public transportations such as airplane, bus, train, taxi, and many others, such as: keep your distance from others, implement double masking, prevent touching your nose, eyes, and mouth, and try to hold your hunger or thirst so you can use your mask effectively the whole ride. Also, if you touch surfaces on public transportation, apply your hand sanitizer (with a minimum of 60% alcohol) or wash your hands in a nearby bathroom. #3 Get full doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in addition to the booster CDC highly recommends a COVID-19 vaccine to lower the spread and enhance your immunity. Moreover, getting vaccinated makes the case if you wish to travel comfortably. Vaccine certification has become one of the main entry requirements to create safe spaces for citizens in all countries. Besides, COVID-19 vaccines, there are also other types of vaccination that will be beneficial to induce a safe traveling experience in a tropical country like Indonesia. #4 Choose your destinations wisely Ensure you know the situation happening in the country you are about to visit. Keep yourself updated with the COVID-19 case before deciding to go. Select destinations that let you outdoor rather than in a space with poor ventilation. Never let your guard down when it comes to health protocols. Better preventing than spending an arm and a leg on your medical bills. #5 Opt for contactless payment Contactless payment has been an effective adoption for businesses to run during the coronavirus pandemic. Until now, digital payment in the form of e-wallets and m-banking continues to thrive in bringing convenience from booking accommodations, purchasing goods or services, and many others. Not only does it help you in minimizing physical contact, but it is also easier in case you do not bring enough cash or small change. #6 Bring your over-the-counter medicines and vitamins Include over-the-counter medicines and vitamins when preparing for your international trip. They are great additions to build your body protection and become the first aid to any kind of illnesses you might encounter. Basically, you want to be all geared up, especially if you are not sure of the availability of a medical clinic there. Some of them include anti-diarrheal medication, antacid medication for stomachache or heartburn, a medicine containing antihistamine for allergies, motion sickness relief, cough drops, pain and fever medicine, decongestant, and mild laxative. No More Self Quarantine for Visitors in Bali from March 7, 2022

No More Self Quarantine for Visitors in Bali

E – VISA INFO APPLY NOW Wednesday, March 9 2022 12:00 WITA  – No More Self Quarantine for Visitors in Bali from March 7, 2022 No More Self Quarantine for Visitors in Bali from March 7, 2022 Bali is welcoming a new era after above 2 years of striving with the significant decline of the tourism sector during the pandemic. Self quarantine is now officially out of the trend! Isn’t it amazing to hear? To answer the demand of the market insisting on relaxation on entry requirements, Bali finally arrives at the year to recover and turn around their economic situation. Bali can use these opportunities to create more business and job opportunities from March 7, 2022. The Agenda for No More Self Quarantine Is Brought Forward 7 Days Earlier The outbreak of COVID-19 forced Indonesia to implement strict entry requirements to keep the virus at bay. However, their tourism industry, as a result, has been seriously battered. Starting from March 7, Bali launched their latest travel regulation, self quarantine free for foreign visitors! The agenda is supposed to be on March 14, what’s the rush? According to Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, the Government executes the policy 7 days earlier after tough considerations. However, this, of course, has been supported by reliable data and advice from experts. The Background Sandiaga Uno stated in an interview with CNN Indonesia that the citizens in Bali have got adequate immunity to tackle the high-risk transmission of COVID-19. Over 90% of the citizens have gotten their second jab of vaccine (the highest in any part of Indonesia). Moreover, Bali’s Provincial Government committed to working on booster vaccine distribution is above 30%. Wayan Koster in his statement added that from a total of 2.909 visitors coming to Bali from the period of February 30 – March 6, 2022, only 16 people were COVID-19 positive. That means less than 1% of transmission. Green zones are also available far and wide in Bali. Furthermore, he mentioned that the first dose of vaccine has reached 104%. The second dose with 94%, and the booster vaccine with 22.3%. Bali’s Preparations for Free Self Quarantine Starting from March 7, 2022 Following the instruction of Indonesia’s President, Joko Widodo, simulation has all been geared up to ensure everything works to perfection. All processes are conducted hand in hand by the local Government in Bali as well as the Central Government. This stage includes the preparation of a new circular letter, international health protocols, new visa policy, airline and airport readiness, transportation from the airport to hotels, campaigns to promote no self quarantine policy, and booster vaccine acceleration up to 30%. To monitor the running of the policy to allow for further evaluation and adjustment in case there is a spike of cases after its implementation, the Government also puts these into priority: The visitors’ commitment to comply with the advice to install PeduliLindungi, The readiness for hospitals in Bali to supply the best healthcare services, For accommodations in Bali to be equipped with the special task force and see the health protocols are well-observed. This is to make sure that we can anticipate the worst cases yet to come with a proper scheme to perform.  Despite the No Self Quarantine Policy, Tourists Still Submit the Documents as Required Other than quarantine and the reopening of visa on arrival, it is still necessary for tourists to: Fully vaccinated and got their booster vaccine, Giving a receipt of the accommodation they have booked, Ensuring their travel insurance, Showing their negative PCR test result taken before their departure, Retake PCR once arrived at the airport and wait until the result is out in 1×24 hours. If the tourist is COVID-19 positive, they have no other option but to carry out self quarantine on their reserved accommodation (aimed for those with mild symptoms). Else, they have to migrate to appointed hospitals along with the task force (for patients with heavy symptoms). If the policy turns out successful, the Central Government will consider applying it to other provinces in Indonesia.
