Bali Provincial Government requires domestic travelers who enter Bali by air, show COVID-19-free PCR test results.
Denpasar – The Bali Provincial Government (Pemprov) requires domestic travelers (PPDN) who enter the Island of the Gods by air to show the results of a COVID-19-free PCR test. Meanwhile, the results of the COVID-19 test using GeNose are no longer valid in Bali. “So we are tightening the Bali entrance (or) the requirements to enter Bali via air transportation, we must use a PCR-based swab test. We are no longer allowed to use GeNose,” said Bali Governor Wayan Koster at the Bali DPRD Building, Monday (28/6/2021)
Meanwhile, PPDN that travels by land/sea must use a rapid antigen test as a minimum. Koster hopes that those who pass this route can also use the PCR test because the results are better. Tests for GeNose on land/sea routes are also deprecated.
Koster said that the policy was issued because he saw the increasing number of COVID-19 cases outside Bali. In Jakarta, said Koster, yesterday the figure reached 9,900 a day and the national total reached 21,000 cases.
“So today I am issuing a new circular (requirements for entry to Bali) in accordance with the direction of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, the Minister of Health and also the Minister of Transportation so that Bali, which is already good, should not be damaged again,” he said.
Koster said the development of community activities, especially the arrival of domestic tourists to Bali was quite good, even though COVID-19 cases had increased in the last few weeks. PPDN through air transportation is in the range of 8,000-9,000 thousand people per day. While PPDN by land/sea through Gilimanuk Port is around 10,500 people per day.
“That is the condition we are facing today, so there is indeed a slight increase in cases. But that should not be because it shackles the economic activity of the community. The economic activity of the community is expected to run well and normally, but it must be orderly and disciplined to apply health protocols,” he hoped.
