The Head of Public Relations and General Affairs of the Directorate General of Immigration, Arya Pradhana Anggakara said, Permenkumham Number 34 of 2021 gave entry permits to foreigners holding valid and valid visas or residence permits. Offshore visa services that were previously temporarily suspended have now reopened. Applications for approval of offshore visas can be submitted based on the type of activity of the Foreigner in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.
Along with the renewal of immigration regulations through Permenkumham No. 34 of 2021, the Directorate General of Immigration will make adjustments to the granting of entry permits for foreigners. Head of Sub-Division of Public Relations of the Directorate General of Immigration, Achmad Nur Saleh, stated that in the eVisa issuance data, it turned out that many foreigners had obtained eVisas but were unable to enter Indonesian Territory due to entry restrictions for foreigners during the period of the Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM). So many eVisas expire before entering Indonesia.
“Foreigners who have a visit visa or a limited stay visa whose issuance date is in the period from April 22, 2021 to July 18, 2021, are permitted to enter Indonesian territory through certain Immigration Checkpoints (TPI). Visa holders who have expired with these provisions are given access to enter Indonesia until no later than October 15, 2021,” said Achmad.
The eVisa reactivation process is carried out by utilizing information technology embedded in the Immigration Management Information System (SIMKIM). Foreign guarantors no longer need to apply for a new eVisa but will automatically get a new eVisa sent to the sponsor’s email and foreigners.
“So later we will send a new eVisa email to the guarantor and sponsor’s email automatically. With the new eVisa, foreigners can immediately leave and enter Indonesia,” said Achmad.
The airports designated as TPI based on the Decree of the Minister of Law and Human Rights dated 17 September 2021 include:
1. Kualanamu (Medan)
2. Hang Nadim (Batam)
3. Soekarno-Hatta (Tangerang)
4. Halim Perdanakusuma (DKI Jakarta)
5. Juanda (Surabaya)
6. Sam Ratulangi (Manado)
7. I Gusti Ngurah Rai (Denpasar)
Especially for foreigners who come as Expert Workers (TKA) are allowed to enter Indonesian territory through Soekarno-Hatta and Sam Ratulangi Airports.
Meanwhile, foreigners who are still outside Indonesia with a visa issued before 22 April 2021 can apply for a new visa. Offshore visa services are reopened with restrictions. Visitation visa approval can only be granted for business purposes, medical purposes and humanitarian reasons.
Conditions that fall into the category of humanitarian reasons are caring for nuclear family members who are being treated in hospital and taking care of needs related to nuclear family members who have recently died.
